Join us for a memorable tour and a great adventure! How better to spend your holiday than cycling around Andalusia, visiting Granada, Cordoba and Seville, improving your health and fitness and all the while helping us to fundraise? We want to tell you about a fantastic opportunity that we have organised and are very exited about. It combines many elements of what we are trying to do for the European Muslim youth. Arriving on Friday 15th to Saturday 22nd April 2011, about 30 students and young people will leave their countries for Andalusia, Spain. While so many students will hit the beaches and party spots that week, these young people will discover Andalusia through a cycle-tour, establishing a bond with the Andalusian-Islamic civilization and learning more about them. In addition they will enjoy cycling in one of the most beautiful areas of Europe during some of the best weather of the year. Added to all this, they will help to support the programme and activities of FEMYSO which are aimed at improving the situation of European Muslim youth across the whole of Europe. All in all it will be an amazing experience and an adventure that you will remember for the rest of your lives. Education, sports and fundraising in one of the most inspiring places in Europe - what a great way to spend a week of the holiday period! The overall price will be 1200€. This includes transport (flight, transport between the cities, bikes), accommodation, food, accessories and a guide.

Intissar Kherigi, president of femyso attended a speech event: Islam, Women and Politics.
The panel examined the nature of women’s political participation in the Middle East and North Africa amid the rising prominence of Islam in political discourse. In particular, the speakers discussed developments in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and explored how the shifting political and social norms in these countries may affect women’s prospects for political participation. The panellists also considered the political participation of European Muslim women.
“Acting Together to Overcome Poverty !” Young people address social injustice through interreligious cooperation
The religious communities have a long history of social work and welfare institutions, running alongside state welfare systems and often substituting them. However, despite of the interreligious work already being done, there is much potential in the cooperation between religious communities in addressing social injustice and poverty. There is a great asset of expertise in various fields, which could gain more strength in collaboration.
