🎉 We present EMF – France (Étudiants Musulmans de France) with the Organisation of the Year Award.

📌 As part of their historical actions, community iftars have always been in their top highlights of each year. They provide each and every year shared meals for thousands of students during the month of Ramadan. These actions benefit to all but most importantly for students who would otherwise find themselves alone or unable to put together a proper iftar. As Covid 19 restricted us all in many ways it also restricted them but EMF took up the challenge with their #delivriftar2020 and distributed nothing less than 18000 meals and 7185 food packages in a total of 16 French cities. Anti-Islamophobia, different events.

🎉 We present MSA Nederland – Netherlands (Moslimstudenten Associatie Nederland with the Best Collaboration Award.

📌 In the face of the Covid Lockdown situation and its impact on access and cost of education, they did not stay passive. The organisation figured the best way to address and tackle the issue would be to collaborate. And indeed, when education has moved online but the fees are remaining just as high then why not collaborate with LSvb, the dutch National Union of Students!

⭐️ Marie Curie Award ⭐️

🎉 We present NUMU - Finland (Nuoret Muslimit ry) with the Most Improved Organisation Award.

📌 Went a very long way since the last GA. The team restructure, the running of the board and so on and so forth, NUMU is very impressive in how they raised from a difficult situation towards a stronger and vibrant organization. They still face many challenges but these we think they will certainly surpass.

🎉 We present FRI – North Macedonia (Forumi Rinor Islam) with the Best Member Organisation's Event Award.

📌 (Hijri) - An event that completely changed the meaning of the word event. From what we experienced is that the event which celebrates the new Islamic calendar year instilling the Islamic identity in North Macedonia, High achievers are recognised at the event, from academia to Quran memorisation to individuals and organisations with significant contribution to society. Usually it gathers thousands, but this year due to corona it was held in open air, around 500 attended.

🎉 We present FOSIS – UK (Federation of Student Islamic Societies) with the Best Active Citizenship Award.

📌 They really took the opportunity of the COVID lockdown to develop and provide their members and externals with high quality content. The Ramadan campaign, as well as conducting and showcasing their whole Annual Conference online, engaged their audience by bringing in external speakers for webinars, trainings and lectures. We are happy to award FOSIS with the Best Active Citizenship Award!

🎉 We present MABY with the Best Social Media award.

📌 From the good looks to the content, they are always maintaining very high standards in terms of Social Media. They provide active members as well as externals with all the necessary content to follow the activities of MABY. Providing us with infographics, summaries of past events and so on and so forth. With the National board being elected in the middle of the Covid lockdown, they managed to step up and produce high quality online content using their online platforms. We are happy to award MABY with the Best Social Media Award!

🎉 We present GMI – Italy (Giovani Musulmani d’Italia) with the Best Campaign award.

📌 Taking part in the movement of the 21st of September, they have come up with their own multi faced national campaign to raise awareness and tackle islamophobia throughout Europe. GMI really stepped up on the national scene with the HEAD UP campaign and we are happy to award them with the Best Campaign Award!

⭐️ Karim Saafi Award ⭐️

🎉 It is an honour to present Magid Magid with the European Muslim Personality of the Year award.

📌Whilst Magid’s term as a member of the European Parliament was short, his impact was incredible. In his time in European Parliament he was one of the leading voices against racism and refugees and was the leading voice in fighting against Islamophobia in European institutions when he was in office.

📌And based on this we would like to award him with the Karim Saafi Award, who like Magid was a leading light for young people in Europe and sadly passed away last year.

✅ Karim Saafi has always been very dedicated towards developing and empowering those around him, he did that through FEMYSO years ago, and he continued to do it through the African Diaspora Youth Forum in Europe. He passed away while on a trip related to work. We’d like to remember his work and inspire the youth through his legacy.
