WHAT WE DO
“An insight of FEMYSO’s 4 main work areas”
Campaigns
As part of our ambition towards working for a more diverse, cohesive, and vibrant Europe, our campaigns play a unique role providing a call to action in our wider communities, addressing pressing issues that critically affect the future of Europe. Examples of this are European Day Against Islamophobia, a campaign tackling Islamophobia, and GreenUp My Community, a campaign on tackling the climate emergency. We also provide support for campaigns happening on a grassroots level that we believe can create long, sustainable, and lasting change. Our Member Organisation are behind some unique campaigns that need to be highlighted, and further rolled out continentally, such as the “Believe And Do Good Campaign”.
Networking
With a network of 32 Member Organisations across 20 countries, FEMYSO is the largest network of Young Muslims in Europe. We utilise this network to provide a platform for like-minded young people to come together, share their experiences, ideas, and best practice. Our vast network has enabled young Muslims to meet together, work on projects and campaigns that have been launched locally, nationally, and continentally. We also provide a space for our Member organisations to meet up with the other activists, civil society organisations and institutions acting on a European level.
Representation
FEMYSO is the only pan-European Muslim youth organisation, representing the interests and concerns of young Muslims. We utilise our voice to fight for the rights and civil liberties of young Muslims, working and collaborating with key stakeholders, regularly consulting on issues pertaining to Muslim youth. We have developed relationships with various civil society organisations, government, and international institutions and agencies, such as the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation (OSCE), the United Nations, and many more.
Training
We organise training sessions developed through our vast network of experienced, and qualified trainers, specialising in certain fields. Each of our modules have been carefully designed and tailored with our Member Organisations in mind. Our goal is to ensure we are able to give Member Organisations the tools they need to maximise their potential, develop the organisation its members, and young Muslims in Europe at large.
